CALL FOR FUNDING PROPOSALS: MSMEs AND CO-OPERATIVES SUPPORT
CLOSING DATE: 30 JUNE 2026 at 15:00
Johannes Phumani Phungula (JPP) Local Municipality invites local businesses, entrepreneurs, and co-operatives to apply for MSME Grant Funding.
This initiative forms part of the Municipality’s commitment to Local Economic Development (LED) and aims to stimulate sustainable economic growth across the municipality for the 2026/2027 financial year.
Applications are encouraged from qualifying enterprises requiring support for equipment and infrastructure development (non-perishable items).

APPLICATION PROCESS REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must submit a completed application form together with the following supporting documents:
• Certified copy of the applicant's Identity Document (ID)
• Certified copies of the Identity Documents or birth certificates of the applicant's children
• Proof of residence
• Proof of ownership or a valid lease agreement for the property
• Latest Eskom account or municipal statement
• Proof of total monthly household income (e.g. bank statement, payslip, or social grant card)
• Recommendation letter from the relevant Ward Councillor
• Sworn affidavit confirming that all information provided is true and correct
BENEFITS OF REGISTRATION
Qualifying households will receive the following benefits:
• Access to basic municipal services for eligible indigent households
• 100% subsidy on rates, refuse removal and fire services
• 100% electricity subsidy of up to 50 kWh per household per month

SCAM ALERT
Johannes Phumani Phungula Local Municipality wishes to warn members of the public about a scammer who identifies himself as Bongani Mashaba, falsely claiming to be an official of the Municipality.
The individual has been approaching households in and around Ixobho, alleging that properties are scheduled for immediate service disconnection due to outstanding municipal account arrears. Victims are then pressured to make on-the-spot cash payments, with amounts reportedly as high as R7 000.
The Municipality wishes to categorically state that it does not conduct door-to-door cash collections, nor does it demand immediate payments in this manner. Residents are urged not to make any payments to individuals claiming to represent the Municipality and to verify all account-related matters through official municipal offices or authorised channels.
Members of the community are advised to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the Municipality or the South African Police Service
